Why a dry chain is a problem

In autumn, rain and dirt wash the lubricant from your chain. If you keep riding, this happens:

• Faster wear – metal rubs on metal. The chain, front sprocket and rear sprocket wear out much faster.
• Rust – moisture and road salt cause an unprotected chain to rust within a few days.
• Squeaking, creaking and skipping – a stiff chain does not run smoothly over the sprockets.
• More strain on motor and battery – your motor has to work harder, your range decreases.
• Risk of a broken chain – a dried out, rusty chain can snap on the road.

How to use the chain spray

1. Dry the chain and roughly clean it with a cloth.
2. Spray the chain from the inside while slowly turning the pedal backwards.
3. Let it soak in for a moment and wipe off excess spray.
4. Repeat in autumn and winter approximately every 1 to 2 weeks, and always after a ride in the rain.

Note: keep spray away from your brake discs and brake pads.
