How to choose the motor for the Qmwheel S20
The hub motor in the rear wheel converts the battery's energy into pulling power and is one of the most heavily stressed parts. The Qmwheel S20 (and S20 Pro) has a different frame than the V20, but many electrical parts are the same.
Common signs that something is wrong: humming or metallic sound, motor spinning without pulling, jerking when starting off, less power.
What to pay attention to before ordering
Compare power, type and color of the connector, rear fork mounting width and number of spokes. The S20 Pro display and controller have their own versions, for example with a black motor cable. Not sure? Send a photo via WhatsApp, and our specialists will check if the part fits.
Tip: A motor that makes a lot of noise often only has worn gears: replacing them is much cheaper than a new motor.

Not always. The most common cause is worn nylon gears, which you can find in our motor gears.
Can I install a more powerful motor?
A bike with pedal assist may have a maximum nominal power of 250W in the Netherlands. With a more powerful motor it becomes a moped, with license plate and insurance requirements.
