How to choose the brakes for the Ouxi V8
An electric fatbike is heavy and fast: good brakes are the most important part for your safety. The Ouxi V8 is one of the most popular fatbikes in Europe and has been released in several versions, including 1.0, 2.0, Pro and Ultra.
Common signs that something is wrong: long braking distance, squealing brakes, brake lever that reaches the handlebar, brake disc with grooves or play.
What to look for before ordering
Compare the type of brake system (mechanical or hydraulic), the brand of the brake caliper (for example Zoom or Logan), the shape of the brake pads and the diameter of the brake disc (160, 180 or 203 mm). The controller, display and connectors differ per version: always check the color of the motor connector (red or black) and the cable length. Not sure? Tip: Replace the brake pads as soon as the brake material is thinner than 1-1.5 mm and do not wait until metal touches the disc.
