Most common causes

Worn motor gears

The hub motor contains nylon gears that wear out over time. The motor then makes noise or slips when accelerating. View motor gears.

Bearings or loose axle

A loose axle nut or worn bearing causes play and noise. Check that the axle nuts are properly tightened. View wheels for the Ouxi C80.

Motor connector or motor cable

A damaged motor cable causes jerky riding. When there's a motor problem, always check the color of the motor connector: it must match the controller. View motors.

Motor failure

If the motor itself is broken, a complete motor or wheel with motor is often the quickest solution. View motors.

What you need to know about the Ouxi C80

  • There are C80 controllers with a red and with a black motor connector (2024-2025). The C80 Pro has a new controller with a red connector.
  • The C80, C80 Pro and C80 Mini have the HC80 display.
  • The C80 charges with the 1-pin Ouxi charger.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Start simple: fully charge the battery, reinsert the battery, and check all connectors at the handlebars.
  2. Check the display: note any error code or take a photo.
  3. Send us a photo of the display, connector or part via WhatsApp. We'll tell you which part you need.
  4. Do it yourself or have it done: order the part, or book an appointment in The Hague or Zoetermeer. Your bike is often ready the same day.

Never work on the electronics while the battery is in the bike, and never open a battery yourself. Lithium batteries can be dangerous if damaged.
